Materials

  • Clear craft glue (easy to find)
  • Food coloring or liquid watercolors (any color of your choice)
  • Silicone heart molds (heart-shaped for a lovely finish)
  • Wax paper or a non-stick surface (to protect your workspace)
  • Mixing sticks or small spoons (for combining colors)
  • Optional: glitter or small embellishments (to add a sparkly touch)

Instructions

  • Begin by laying out your wax paper or non-stick surface. This will protect your work area and make cleanup easier.
  • Squeeze a generous amount of clear craft glue into a small mixing bowl. Feel the cool, smooth texture as it flows easily from the bottle.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors to the glue. Watch how the colors swirl and dance within the clear glue.
  • Use a mixing stick to gently stir the glue and color together. Enjoy the soft sound as the stick moves through the mixture.
  • Once well combined, pour the colored glue into the heart-shaped silicone molds. Take your time, feeling the warmth of the glue as you fill each heart.
  • If you want to add a touch of sparkle, sprinkle glitter or small embellishments into the warm glue before it sets.
  • Allow the hearts to rest undisturbed for several hours or until the glue hardens completely. You can use this time to slow down, sip on a warm drink, or enjoy another calming activity.
  • Carefully pop the hardened glue gems out of the molds when ready. They should come out smoothly, revealing their vibrant colors.
  • Take a moment to appreciate your handiwork. Notice how the light catches the facets of each gem, creating lovely reflections.
