  • 1 slice Pool noodle slice Lightweight and easily shaped.
  • 2 sheets Foam sheets Cut into shapes for butterfly wings.
  • 2 pieces Pipe cleaners Used for making antennae.
  • 1 cap Shallow plastic cap Used to hold sugar water.
  • 1 sponge Sponge Alternate holder for sugar water.
  • 1 cup Sugar water 1 tablespoon of sugar dissolved in 1 cup of water.
  • 1 tube Glue Recommended to ensure better adhesion.
  • 1 piece String For hanging the feeder.

Assembly

  • Gather all your materials and find a clean workspace.
  • Decorate the noodle slice by adding foam butterfly wings and pipe-cleaner antennae. Look for a change in color as you glue the foam pieces on.
  • Glue a shallow cap or sponge holder in the center for the sugar water. The glue should not be tacky when you apply it; a clean surface ensures better adhesion.
  • Add a little sugar water and hang the feeder securely outside. Ensure it is out of reach of small children for safety.
