Start by cutting your colorful paper into squares. A size of 6- to 10-inches works well, allowing for variation in sizes.
Take each square and fold it diagonally in half to create a triangle, then unfold it to find the center point.
Mark your square with a pencil, drawing light lines from each corner to the center. This will help guide your cuts.
Make slits along the lines drawn, stopping about an inch from the center to create ‘petals’ for your pinwheel.
Gently pull every other corner toward the center and secure it with glue, forming the pinwheel shape.
Use a hole punch to create a small hole at the center of your pinwheel.
Insert a wooden dowel through the hole, ensuring that the pinwheel can spin freely. Secure it with glue as necessary.
Decorate your pinwheel with stickers or other embellishments, if desired, to make it unique.
Once everything is set, place your new garden stake into the soil in your garden or flower pot.
