Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C). This low heat allows the crayons to melt without burning.
- While the oven heats, unwrap your crayons; allow your fingers to feel the smoothness of the wax as you prepare.
- Break the crayons into small pieces, about an inch in size. Take a moment to notice the texture and smell as you chop.
- Place the crayon pieces into the silicone molds, arranging them to your liking. Feel free to mix and match colors as you envision your suncatcher.
- Set the molds on a baking tray and carefully place them in the preheated oven. Allow the crayons to melt for about 10 to 15 minutes. Watch through the oven door as colors swirl into one another—a mesmerizing dance.
- Once fully melted, take the tray out and let it cool. The texture will change as it solidifies, turning smooth and inviting.
- After cooling for about 30 minutes, gently pop the suncatchers out of the molds. Enjoy the satisfying feeling as they slide free.
- Lastly, use a small hole punch to create a hold at the top. This is where you'll string them up and allow them to shine.
