Materials

Materials

  • 1 each Clear mason jars (various sizes)
  • 1 bottle Craft glue (the best for lasting results) Ensure it's strong for a durable bond.
  • 1 pack Colored crystals or glitter Choose your favorite colors for added effect.
  • 1 each Battery-operated tea lights Preferably with a soft glow effect.
  • 1 each Paintbrush (for applying glue) A small brush helps for precision.
  • 1 bowl Bowl of water For rinsing your hands.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Ensure you have a clean, flat workspace. Lay down some newspaper to catch any spills while crafting.

Application

  • Using a paintbrush, apply craft glue to the exterior of the mason jar. Make sure to cover it evenly, but avoid puddling.
  • While the glue is still wet, press your chosen colored crystals or glitter onto the surface for a more dynamic look.

Drying

  • Let the jar dry completely. You'll know it's ready when the glue turns clear and solid. This might take a few hours, so be patient.

Final Assembly

  • Once the jar is dry, place your battery-operated tea light inside to see the magical transformation as it emits a soft glow.
  • Inspect the lantern; you may want to add another layer of crystals or even a decorative ribbon for an added flair.

Tips & Notes:

If the glue doesn't adhere properly, apply more glue in those areas and add additional crystals. Experiment with different colored crystals to enhance the brightness of your lanterns. These lanterns can create a lovely atmosphere when displayed in various settings like window sills or outdoor tables.
