Materials

Craft Materials

  • 1 small small round craft mirror This is the base of your sunburst.
  • 24 pieces clear plastic craft sticks or acrylic strips These will form the sunburst shape.
  • 1 sheet holographic film Used for adding accents to the craft sticks.
  • 6 colors translucent paint in vibrant colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) Choose non-toxic paint suitable for kids.
  • as needed pieces acrylic gems These add extra sparkle to the sunburst.
  • as needed bottle strong glue (kid-safe) Ensure adult supervision when using.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Decorate the craft sticks or acrylic strips with alternating rainbow colors using the translucent paints.
  • Add small holographic-film accents to some strips and let everything dry.
  • Turn the craft mirror face down on a protected surface.

Assembly

  • Arrange the strips around the back of the mirror in a sunburst pattern.
  • Secure the strips with strong glue and add acrylic gems near the mirror edge.
  • Let the glue cure completely before displaying it.
