  • 1 cup Fine table salt Easy to find and enhances texture
  • 1 set Watercolor paints or liquid watercolors To create vibrant colors
  • 1 set Paintbrushes (various sizes) For applying the paint
  • 1 container Container for mixing watercolors Needed for mixing colors
  • 1 cup Water For mixing with colors
  • 1 optional Spray bottle For creating textures
  • 1 set Cardboard or plastic sheets To protect work surfaces

Instructions

Preparation

  • Prepare your workspace by laying down newspaper or plastic sheets to protect the surface.
  • Cut your watercolor paper into a jellyfish shape using templates or freehand.
  • Sprinkle a generous layer of salt over the entire surface of the paper.

Painting

  • In a separate container, mix your watercolors with water to achieve a flowy texture.
  • Starting with one color, apply the watercolor to the salt-covered paper, allowing colors to run and mingle.
  • Consider adding textures by spraying water gently from a spray bottle to encourage blending.

Finishing Touch

  • Once your design is complete, let the jellyfish dry completely, which could take a few hours.
  • After drying, gently shake off any excess salt to reveal your vibrant artwork.
