Materials

  • A clear plastic bottle (easy to clean and handle)
  • Water (the base for your calming display)
  • Glow-in-the-dark jellyfish or similar floating creatures (available at craft stores)
  • Glitter or small beads for added sparkle (optional)
  • Food coloring (to enhance the visual appeal)
  • Oil (for creating the calming slow-move effect)
  • Funnel (to make pouring easier)
  • Hot glue gun (for securing the top if needed)

Instructions

  • Begin by thoroughly cleaning your clear plastic bottle. This ensures that all dust and residue are removed, leaving a pristine surface for your creation.
  • Using the funnel, fill the bottle with water, leaving a bit of space at the top for other ingredients.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to the water and swirl gently until you achieve your desired hue.
  • Carefully place the glow-in-the-dark jellyfish into the bottle. Take a moment to notice how they float and swirl.
  • If using glitter or small beads, sprinkle them into the bottle now. They will catch the light and dance around beautifully.
  • Pour a small amount of oil into the bottle. This creates a calming, slow-moving effect for your jellyfish as they appear to drift through the water.
  • After all ingredients are in, you can carefully secure the lid with hot glue if needed, to prevent leaks.
  • Shake the bottle gently to mix the contents, then set it down and observe the mesmerizing movements of your jellyfish.
