Materials

  • Yarn in various colors (choose soft and vibrant options)
  • Scissors (for cutting yarn)
  • A fork (any standard dining fork will work)
  • Optional: Floral wire or twine (for arranging the bouquet)
  • Optional: Small vase or jar (for displaying your finished bouquet)
  • Optional: Decorative elements like glitter or beads (to enhance the pom-poms)

Instructions

  • Start by selecting your yarn colors. Choose a palette that resonates with you, whether it’s bright and bold or soft and pastel. You may also find Broken Crayons Glowing Rainbow Flowers useful.
  • Take your fork and begin wrapping the yarn around the tines, starting at the base. Keep it even, with about 50 loops or more for a full pom-pom.
  • Once you have the desired thickness, cut the yarn end and gently slide the wrapped yarn off the fork.
  • Cut a new piece of yarn about 12 inches long. Place it between the loops at the center of the pom-pom, tying it securely to hold the loops together.
  • Use scissors to cut the loops at the ends, creating the pom-pom shape. Trim any uneven ends to achieve a neat finish.
  • Repeat this process until you have enough pom-poms for your bouquet. Experiment with different sizes for visual interest.
  • If you wish, use floral wire or twine to bundle your pom-poms together, arranging them to your liking.
  • Place the bouquet in a vase or jar and enjoy your creation!
