3. Grow a Crystal Tree (Simple Science Experiment)

4. Crystal Flowers

Dissolve borax in very hot water, hang a star-shaped form from a pencil into the jar, and let it rest undisturbed. Within hours, glittering crystals bloom across the star a stunning window ornament or holiday topper.
Tips for the best crystal results
- Use hot water and stir well. The more borax or salt fully dissolves, the more crystals you will grow.
- Do not disturb the jar. Movement breaks forming crystals find a calm spot and leave it alone.
- Be patient. The biggest, most dramatic crystals form overnight or longer.
- Add color boldly. A few extra drops of food coloring make the finished crystals pop.
